The Problem
ESL teachers have been navigating the same broken job boards since the late 1990s. Outdated search. No salary transparency. No way to know if a school is legitimate before you accept an offer and book a flight.
We've both seen what happens when that goes wrong. So we decided to build the platform we always wished existed.

Somewhere between grading Mojo's journal writing and his classmates' homework, I was finishing my own Bachelor of Business at Swinburne University online. My uni textbooks and their exercise books on the same desk.
I later founded Swagmat Silicone Rings, then COVID came along and scrambled everything. So here we are.

What We Believe
→ Teachers use YouTeacher free. No exceptions, ever.
→ Salary should be visible on every listing, not hidden behind an application.
→ Schools should be accountable. Anonymity protects scammers, not teachers.
→ Finding a job abroad shouldn't require six browser tabs and a leap of faith.
Where We're Going
We're just getting started. YouTeacher launched in April 2026 with job aggregation across the major China platforms, but the roadmap goes much further.

→ Verified school badges. Schools that have passed our vetting process, clearly marked so you know before you apply.
→ Scam detection tools. AI-assisted flagging of suspicious listings, contract red flags, and employer patterns that don't add up.
→ Teacher reviews. Verified, honest feedback from teachers who've actually worked at a school.
→ Salary data by city. Real numbers from real teachers, not whatever a recruiter decided to write.
→ Community layer. A place to ask questions, share experiences, and connect with people who've made the same move you're considering.
The goal is simple: make moving to China to teach English the least risky career decision you've ever made.
